Băneasa area has its air-gate purpose since the beginning of the century, and the project preservs this purpose, adding what it needs for it to comply with the future. The spot gathers not only flying-car pilots at the school, but also car lovers who want to be entertained and watch the spectacular competition show. The air-circuit is doubled by a ground – car circuit keeping a piece of the original airstrip.
The project wants to tell the story of speed and flight. The building brings a tribute to the old function by assimilating the longitudinal conformation of the original airstrip. The public space, which was one of the greatest concerns of the project, shapes the exterior and interior of the volume and continues the park-route developed in the masterplan. Therefore, the park-view of the building consists of a large show sitting-area, and the oposed view gives the city an actual facade.
